What is Satam Stone?

Satam Stone or Billitonite is a tektite (natural glass rock) found only on Belitung Island. This stone was formed from a meteor impact millions of years ago, which melted earth materials and threw them into the atmosphere, then fell back as frozen glass droplets.

Unique Characteristics:

• Jet black color with shiny glass-like surface
• Irregular shape with typical melted texture
• Very hard (Mohs scale 5-6) and heavy
• High scientific value as evidence of meteor impact
